Membership

Membership in a church is not like membership in a social club or other organizations.  Most organization members are consumers - the organization exists to serve them.  The Church of Christ is a completely different community - membership means ministry and service, going from being a consumer to becoming a provider of God’s love and care to others.  At Hope Chapel, we take seriously that we are a church not for ourselves, but for others.

While everyone is wholeheartedly welcome to Hope Chapel, we firmly believe that accountability and active fellowship with the body of Christ is essential to a fruitful and joyous Christian life.  If you are led to make a formal commitment to Hope Chapel, we would love to make a commitment to you.

Membership and baptism classes are offered on a bi-annual basis.  Membership classes include explanations of what it means to be a Christian, what is distinctive about Hope Chapel, and a description of the benefits and expectations for covenant membership.  For those who are in the area for a temporary but extended period because of school or other circumstances and are already members of another church, associate memberships are available.
