Article of the Week - “A Permanent Address” by Dr. Michael Horton

In light of last Sunday’s sermon on the church by Pastor Dae, an article on the nature of the church and what this means for Christians is posted.  May we all grow to love and serve this church that is already and will fully become a beautiful bride of Christ.

“In other words, against all inclinations of a mobile society, where we often seem to be in not only one but several transitions at any given period in our lives, we are called to belong. The church is not like a house that we think we’ve outgrown or a neighborhood that has lost its charm, much less a mall that offers consumers a panoply of choices, so that if we are not completely satisfied we can simply take our business elsewhere. If we find a church that truly preaches Christ and faithfully administers the Sacraments, treating God’s Word as the rule for life and doctrine, we should count ourselves “lucky” and bear the weaknesses that we will inevitably see once we get to really know the place.”

Article of the Week - “Peace! Be Still!” by Rev. James Lee

“What should we expect when we follow Jesus? A smooth sailing? No. Jesus does not guarantee that. What Jesus guarantees is that you will safe get to the other side of the grave and along the way, through every storm and tribulation, you will see His glory. Let us not be afraid. Let us trust in the Lord. Let us look at our adversities and challenges as God’s opportunities to show His glory.” - Rev. James Lee

Article of the Week - “Messiahs Pointing to the Door” by Dr. Carl Trueman

In anticipation of the upcoming all church retreat, another article from our guest speaker Dr. Carl Trueman.

In this article, he warns the church against ascribing too much hope and faith on various “messiahs” that come our way.  May Hope Chapel become a church who look to Christ the Messiah the only one who can truly deliver us from sin and bring peace and justice to this fallen world in which we live.
