Vision and Values

Vision
We seek to grow into a mature church established upon the Work of Christ and built up in His Word.

Mission
To draw those living in the greater Baltimore area to the Hope of the Gospel (1 Peter 1:3-9), root them in Christian Life and Community, and send them to the World as ambassadors of the Gospel.

Values

1.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Above all we prize its purity, clarity and depth as it is found in the Bible, the inerrant Word of God.   We thrive on Gospel-drawn worship and teaching. (Everything concerning the church begins and ends with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As it states in Romans 1:16,17  “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.  For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”)

2.  The Body* of Jesus Christ
One of the greater gifts of God to his beloved is the Body* of Christ. We love and serve the Body* of Christ. (We are first and last called to love one another.  John 15:12-17  “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  You are my friends if you do what I command.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business.  Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.  You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last.  Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.  This is my command: Love each other.”)

3.  The Commission of Jesus Christ

As much as the body is formed it must move as one toward a goal and purpose.  There is no greater purpose for a Christian and his/her church than to participate in fulfilling the Great Commission. We are on a mission: immediate (mother church), local (Baltimore) and abroad (out of state and beyond). (We have in Christ a new mandate from God.  It is no longer simply to fill the earth but transform its peoples with the Gospel.  Matthew 28:18-20  “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”  We do this only in reliance upon the Holy Spirit which is the very Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Acts 1:8  But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
